I think my Bold is Terminal :( -
10-01-2008, 04:33 AM
Last night, the "clock" symbol started ticking around the screen (as if it was doing something) then flashing off, then coming on again.. the Bold itself, felt very warm.. I tried a battery pull or 3, but the clock was still ticking. so i turned the device off.
When i got home, i placed it on chrage, the red light came on, but nothing came on the screen..
I managed to then charge the blackberry up, and it did come on, but the pesky clock was still there.
I took it off charge at 6am this morning, and by 9am, it had drained 80%...
Is my Bold goosed? - or should i try moving to .150 to see if it fixes it?

The same exact thing happened to me with .147. i upgraded to .150 which solved the problem. However, I found overall, 147 was much more stable, .150 has way too many problems, especially with bbm and the network turning off. So today, i will be downgrading again and hoping my .147 version does not go terminal again. very frustrating. But hope this helps.

the move to 150 does seem to have made the clock go-away, and when the device powered up, i had 18 missing e-mails from last night in my inbox lol :-D

try going to .162... seems to be most stable one out there right now that's not BETA.
I've had this happen to me whilst I was on .126 out of the box OS. Seems there was an issue with apps not closed-out and memory re-allocated properly. The processor goes nuts and tried to recover and do it's thing but it's pretty much like something hang's internally. So I uninstalled all 3rd party apps and after a batt pull, everything was status quo. Re-installed the apps, no such probs. But didn't want to wait for that to happen, so just upgraded to .162 and I'm lovin' it... :D
Cheers,

OP's signature would seem to indicate he/she is already on .162.
