Default Diverting to a number from Speed Dial

I divert my bold to another phone a lot of times. I have been doing it from the diversion menu in the phone application.

To make it quicker I put the diversion carrier code into a peed dial. **21<number># , but it does not work. Returns an error.

Question Can the blackberry use these carrier codes to divert or does it have to be dome from the diversion menu?
