Question Bold 9000 4.6.0.292/4.6.0.162 OS Release & Vodafone UK - 10-13-2008, 09:34 AM

Hi,

I have the 9000 supplied by Vodafone UK with the following OS:

Applications: 4.6.0.126
Platform: 4.0.0.135

I would like to upgrade to version 4.6.0.292 but Vodafone do not provide this from their website; the version I have installed is the latest they provide. If I upgraded to this latest version, would it incur any issues with my BB in being contracted to Vodafone UK?

Thanks,

Richard.

Hi,

Thanks. I upgraded this morning and the only problem I had was that I had taken the free upgrade for DocumentsToGo and the new OS upgrade downgraded this to the initial version. I was, though, able to re-take the DocumentsToGo upgrade OTA so all okay thanks.

I think it always does that. Just have to upgrade DocsToGo after every OS upgrade.

That figures I guess. If you de-select DocumentsToGo from the Application Loader section it then tries to remove it all together so I guess best to let it down grade and then re-update.

Actually the stated workaround on this:

Delete or rename or move the DocumentsToGo.alx file to another location. Once it's renamed or removed the Application Loader will treat your current Docs To Go as a 3rd party app (which it really is) and leave it alone or if upgrading the OS it will back it up and restore it.
