Default Enterprise devices and firmware compatibility - 10-14-2008, 07:51 AM

i'm having numerous problems with my bold since flashing to all the new firmwares that have been released.

I started with an enterprise bold on .126 and since upgrading to whatever version, i keep getting uncaught exception errors with the net_rim_bb_messaging_app crashing ALL the time. I have used JL_CMDR numerous times to wipe the device before reloading another OS but I cannot seem to find ANY release of the firmware that fixes this.

I was wondering if whether or not it started off as an enterprise device, would it give me any problems as all firmware releases are BIS specific or consumer specific? I didn't have this issue with my curve 8310 but I cannot seem to find a firmware release that will work - not even if I go back to the official Vodafone UK release .126 !!

Any ideas or help appreciated!

figured it out - it was the IT policy on the device which held the permissions on access to certain data. You have to remove the policy first by using JL_CMDR to do a RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULT before doing the wipe
