Web Browsing from a newbie -

Hi
I am interested in purchasing the Bold but have a couple of questions about the browser.
I am currently using the o2 XDA orbit and browse using the opera mini browser.
Is this and option on the Bold. I have seen that you cannot browse using the mobile web??? Not suite sure what this means.
Also I have seen some comparisons(against the iphone) which says that the browser is quite slow.
What experiences do others have on 3G and WiFi. What is the connection like to Wifi.
