Default Bold Reconciliation issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

One of my uses has got the new Bold and it was been a nightmare from the start. There are two problems with it. It doesnt delete mail from the handheld when it has been deleted from Outlook and under Folder Re-direction when you select other folders whey dont populate with any mail. Does the handheld only sync-up to a set period of time in the past or should it pull down everything into the folders?

We are using BPS 4.1.4 on SBS2003. The other Curves we have work perfectly. Your assistance and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

By default, a newly activated device will only receive a pre-population of messages in the mailbox for the past 5 days, or 200 messages, whichever is reached first.
You can adjust this setting to a maximum of 14 days, or 750 messages.
How do I adjust message pre-population? - BlackBerryFAQ

As far as the reconciliation issue, on the device check this setting:
Messages > Options > Email Reconciliation > Wireless Reconcile = On/Off (Should be On)
Additionally, it could take some time (up to 15-20 minutes) for items deleted from the desktop to reconcile to the handheld.

Thank you very much soupandsandwich! Top post.

Just the job. Do I need to do anything on the handheld now I have changed that setting or will it filter down to it automatically?

Kind regards,
Dave.

Well, it's too late the handheld you just activated. Pre-population only occurs once, for a newly activated device.
If you want it to occur again, you need to completely remove the user account from BES and then re-add it, and reactive the handheld.
(Or switch the user to a different device with a new PIN.)

Also, pre-pop might not populate subfolders at all. I think it might just be the inbox. I actually haven't tested that in a while.

hmm ok.

Also, on the same handheld, when you delete a message from Outlook it either doesnt delete on the handheld or it takes a day or so to be removed. Any ideas? The other Curves work fine! I have checked the Delete on Handheld and Mail box option and that is set correctly.

I'm having reconciliation issues as well.

I use Hotmail (and therefore BES doesn't apply since I'm using AT&T's personal BlackBerry service). I've had the same service...4 different BBs. Now, with the Bold, my issue comes with deleting emails.

If I read a message in Hotmail and then delete it, it will remain in my device. If I read an email from my device and delete it (On Handheld & Mailbox), it is deleted in my device and in my Hotmail Inbox. I've checked the settings in my Options, and they agree with what was posted by soupandsandwich.

I just got off the phone with AT&T support. The rep mentioned that AT&T or RIM (I can't remember) was going to complete an email software update at some point on November 9th (the email service will be unavailable), which he thought might be a fix for this issue. He DID continue to help me troubleshoot the issue...and now I'm holding for a RIM rep.

None of what I posted above applies to you. BIS handles wireless reconciliation entirely different than BES.
I have no clue how Hotmail handles wireless reconciliation via BIS.

You should probably start a new thread about your issue instead of hijacking this one.
Your problem is not related to BES or this thread.
