Default Headphones/Music Related Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hmm, so I'm not sure if the rest of you are battling the same issues I am - but I don't see a post about this so far.

First, I find my headphone jack/related-software buggy. I will plug my headphones in, and lots of times the bold won't recognize it. I'll play a song, and it'll start blasting through the speakers instead. I have to pull it out, and plug it back in a few times, and push/hold before it kicks in. Anyone else having these issues? If not, then I may just have a defective bold...

Secondly, what were they thinking when they designed the music system? If I'm listening to music and a call comes in - the music stops and my ringtone starts. So I answer it. Why doesn't the phone output kick into my headphone speakers? Instead, I have to pull out one side of my headphones, and bring the phone up to my ear to listen/talk.

Okay, well that's not even what bugs me the most. Now when I'm done the call - I hang up.. and BOOM, my music now RESUMES, and starts blasting through the phone speakers! What the heck!? My headphones are still plugged in, but it decides to output on the bold? I would have thought they would either a) stop the music, so you have time to re-fiddle the headphoens, or b) continue playing the music through the headphones.

Gah, it blows my mind. Either I have defective bold, or they never really thought this one through (which definitely blows my mind).

Anyone else getting different results here?

Not sure why yours behave this way but mine is different.

Listening to music once earphone plug in no problem, it will switch to earphone immediately. I've tried 2 different brand both works well. When phone comes in, music stop and you speak through regular way without the earphone. Once phone hang up, music kicks in through earphone. I'm using software .162 if your's lower than that probably you should upgrade your bold software.

The bundled earphones have a microphone and button for answering and ending calls, so I imagine you can use that instead of unplugging the earphones during a call.

Also, I found that you need to push the jack in all the way til you get a click and it's flush against the case.

Red = right.

As for comparing to iPhone headphones, why not do that yourself? We all have different tolerances and expectations, so how are we supposed to answer that question for you? For example, I hate iPod headphones, so the ones that came with the Bold are light years better. I'm sure someone will disagree, so who's right?

If you want one of the best earphones, and have the cash (229GBP), get something like this:

Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 PRO Earphones in Metallic Blue HiFi Headphones

i recently lost my earphones for iphone. so i had to use bold's earphones for music. i m not very fond of the iphone earphones either. but instantly i noticed a drop in the quality for music...now i m thinking of buying a pair of 3rd party earphones...for example, skullcandy or something affordable lol.

but seriously, the bold "premium" earphones retail for 49.99( from rim website) and the quality sucks (for music anyways. havnt test for calls)
