Default Built in groove for trackball important in case selection?

Please Login to Remove!

I am case shopping for a bold. I noticed the blackberry oem cases mention a built in groove to protect the trackball. How important is this? I found another case that I prefer to the oem, but it makes no mention of this feature.

Thank you.

The groove helps protect accidental "clicking" of the trackball. The gap that the groove creates also allows for reduced contact of trackball to case. You also need to consider proximity sensor feature that shuts off the screen backlight as soon as you slide your BlackBerry into place. The sensor also allows you to switch automatically to different notification settings (for ringing, vibration or both) based on whether your BlackBerry is in or out of its case.

I lock my keyboard before putting it in the case. No accidents then.
