Hi,

When I installed my application the icon placed in Downloads folder. I have tried different values (1, A1, 2 .. etc) for RIM-MIDlet-Position-1. But the icon is still showing in the downloads folder.

Please help me if there is any setting required to bring it back to home section.

Highlight the icon you want to move > press menu button > Move To Folder > select "Home".

Voila .... the icon should now be in the home section.

can we move it through program? I mean can we specify where do we want to install our application?

It's only the icon that shows up under "Downloads". Basically it's just a shortcut. Pretty sure you can't specify where the icon gets installed.

so, there's no way to program an application to download to home or some other folder (other than "downloads")? that is such a lame limitation.

Lol, the same amount of time would be spent to "click and move" the icon as it would be to choose the "download location".

Sure, as a single user it's a simple click and move, but if you're an enterprise you would ideally want to control the bb experience across ALL users (including where applications are downloaded to - whether it's pushed to the Home Screen or being able to push apps to a programatically created folder such as "XYZ Sales Apps" or "XYZ Executive Apps", etc...)

If the ability to do this is out there, I'd love to know how to do it. If not, it seems like RIM has missed the boat on this one.

Are you the BES admin or the user?

If it's a troubleshooting issue on the admin side with BES, be-it the download folder or XYZ sales app is no issue because at least with the download folder they always go to the same folder. Now if you have multiple folders you're pushing to that could make it more difficult because lets say you forget what folder you pushed "X" to.....
