New to Blackberry got 2 questions.

1. If I read email on the blackberry will I be able to retrieve the same emails later on my desktop pc?

2.I plan to use msn messenger on the BB so if Im logged in whats the battery life on stand by mode in messenger? I should get 10 hours easily correct if im not chatting...just want to be logged in so friends can see when im on the move.

1) Yes just make sure your email stays on the server which is usually a given
2) It varies. There other things that come into play with regard to battery life such as closing out your apps and signal strength in area

Thanks for the quick reply. Right now im using WM6 and when I go on msn messenger and log on with 3G the battery drains really quick maybe 2 hours of usage just on standby. My sister in law has the 8300 and she's always on msn and gets one full day of standby. 8300 uses GPRS the Bold uses 3G so im not sure if 3G works differently when its on stand by mode when logged in msn messenger.

the bold also has twice the processor, twice the screen resolution, and a lot more memory to power.

you're comparing apples to oranges when it comes to battery life between 8300 vs 9000. with a curve you should get a good 6-8 hours standby with msn running. i leave my IM client (Ramble IM) on all day as well as texting throughout the day and browsing using opera mini and still after 10-12 hours of at work and running errands i'm at at least 35-40% battery life. i dont remember the last time i saw the infamous blinking green LED.

however battery life has been a notable issue with the BOLD even with its bigger higher capacitance battery
