Default shortcuts & email sync

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
Just wondering, is it possible to change the shortcuts on the "Desktop" of the blackberry. Where it shows about 5 icons on the bottom. I added some email accounts and now the icons shows- Messages, Email Acc 1, Email Acc 2, Calender Browser. Since Messages shows all the emails together i'd rather remove email 1 and 2 accounts and put SMS and tasks shortcuts.

Emails Synchronization between Gmail Apps and Outlook.

Finally it looks like i've found a work around using BES. IMAP!!!
I havn't tried it yet, but can anyone tell me if this works.

My email accounts are with Gmail Apps and i use Outlook as my mail client from where i manage and organise my emails. I want outlook to sync with my Blackberry bold.

Wirelessly posted (8130 Pearl (Sprint))

I tried imap with gmail when it was first supported and it kinda destroyed the whold "push mail". It reminded me of a winmo phone with the large clump of mail at once. However, this could have been fixed as well, I cannot tell for sure. And for your other question....

Depending on the theme, you can remove the icons from your homescreen. If you hit menu, you will go to the "icon zen" layout with many icons and nothing else (except the time/date/etc.). Hit menu on the email acc 1 and 2. You have the option to move or hide. The theme usually pulls from the first 5 icons on this screen and puts them on the bottom of your homescreen. Arrange them wisely.

And for the email and sms/mms seperate, go into messages, hit options and go to general. About 2/3 of the way down is an option to keep the sms and email boxes seperate, combined, or theme controled. You will select seperate, hit menu, and save.

On your homescreen, and icon will pop up called "sms and mms". All of your sms and mms will go in there (duh) lol.

The end

Thanks,
I also tried the Gmail IMAP and yes it does destroy the push email. I get emails after at least 5 mins compared with just normal access to gmail which only takes 7 sec.
And it doesnt sync properly either. When i delete emails from my BB, they do get deleted from Outlook but if i delete something from outlook they do not get synced with the BB. When i read them on my BB they do not get synced with outlook either.

Is there any other way of syncing emails between Blackberry and Outlook when using Gmail (for business, APPs). Other than paying another monthly fee.
