On every other BB I've used (8700, 8310, and altell pearl) when you click the "call" button it pulls up your call log. But if you hold the "call" button down it will pull up your contacts.

I've been playing around with my bold and both methods just pull up your call log. In the general options while in the call log you can set the "phone list view," but only to one thing. That split feature was one of my favorite BB functions.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get this back on the Bold?

I dug around for a while, so if I failed at searching I'm sorry.

On my Bold, if I click the (green) call button once, I get the call log.
THEN, if I click and HOLD down the call button, my address book does appear.

Hm, it seems to do it once I'm already in the call log, but not from the home screen.

For me, again, from the HomeScreen... press once, I get the call log.
Once in the Call Log, press and hold, the address book comes up.
