Default Put on a screen protector?

Please Login to Remove!

What do you guys think? I mean I just carry the bold around with nothing else, no case or anything just in my hand or put it in my pocket. Always on the go being a college student and carrying between classes and such. Do you guys think putting a screen protector on will make the screen not look so good. I've realized finger print smudges get on the screen quite easily just from holding it.

Suggestions?

I use a screeen protector on my curve and pocket it all the time- no case at all and it has held up well. Bold arrives tomorrow and I am ordering a screen protector. You can't even tell the screen protector is on but they do an awesome job.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

I get the plastic sheets from Best Buy. Pack of 12 for $9. I also carry in my pocket.

I have had one off these for the past few years on every phone I have had. Works great. BlackBerrys

I would! Temporarily I put on some 3M stuff I keep around for various temp needs. I can handle a few war wounds, but never a scratched screen!

I have invisi-shield by ZAGG on my 8300, it held up very well and was definitely put to the test! Their service was so CRAPPY I won't ever order from directly from them again, so I go with the bestskinsever the other's suggested.

And yeah, I had my 8300 for a while and still have a bad taste in my mouth from my dealings with ZAGG. I don't easily forget when I get jacked around by a company.

I highly recommend going with Boxwave's screen protector. It's a stiffer protector that is probably just under half a mm in thickness. You can't tell it's on if you put it on right and it's substantial enough to really protect the screen. I put mine on right after I took of the plastic off the screen.

I used to use them also. I used them on my Blackberries, and the screen cover on my iPhone 3G, but i've noticed that over time, their protectors start collecting dust and residue at the edges, and it makes it look very nasty over time. I think I am going to try a different product this time.

yea, I have handled my friend's iphone with the full ZAGG skin and

a) it was very inconsistent in appearance even where bubbles did not form
b) disliked the gummy feeling and thickness of it.

Are there any screen protectors that do not degrade the sharpness of the screen's text/images?

Zagg InvisiShield. I have them on every portable device I own that has an LCD screen including my Bold.

When the display is on it is completely undetectable. If you look for it with the screen off you can see a slight orange peel texture.....but I tend not to look at the display when it is off. Yes, the shield is soft to the touch and that is why it does not scratch.

BTW, just pulled one off a Curve after it was on for a year; came off clean with no residue.

I had a full skin sealing protector on my 8800, and it was tough to put on and I never was happy with the fit, feel, or invisibility of the thing. But a screen protector by all means.

I got these in today and I'm not impressed. Sort of like invisihield, but they dont function well using the left over invishield solution i had in the spraybottle. I just want a nice screen protector thats not gonna leave bubbles or make my screen look weird in parts of the screen. I have an invisishield protector on my iphone and parts of the screen have these lines on it, its horrible. Can anyone recommend any other kind of screen protector? It doesn't have to be made from a material that supposedly coated helicopter blades. It isn't like i'm going to have a diamond cutting against my devices screen. Just something that will help deter day-to-day wear and tear.

Thanks

The application of this product is key to it's appearance, did you use soapy water as instructed? I have the same protector on my curve for 2 years and it is flawless. The helicopter blade thing proves the strength of these only- don't get wrapped up in the pronotional side of the product- it works- I am telling you- two years not a scratch and my screen is as clear as day one. If installed correctly they work as advertised.

They only negative I could have is the edges collect dirt over time- but I am searching for a problem by saying that as my curve was in my pocket every day for 2 years with no other protection. The paint on the keys has worn off but the screen is like new.

I'm not a fan of cases. I carry mine generally in my top pocket, jacket pocket in the winter. I've been using a rubber skin, it keeps it from falling out of my pocket and sliding all of the car, table and desk. My 7290 fell out of my pocket a couple of times and worked without a problem, not so lucky with a 8800 though; I don't imagine the Bold would do much better.

Screen protector, yes. I take care of my phone but don't get crazy about a scratch or a bump on it. It's only a phone and will be going in 18 months. That said, a scratch on the screen is the worse place. I've been using the Zagg Invisishield too. I've had these on a number of devices (ipods, phones, kids games) and they work great. I just ordered the screen only protector for my Bold, it shipped yesterday. Right now, I just have a generic screen protector from Staples on mine and it is fine; I'll replace it with the invisishield when it starts getting worn.

Regards-Michael G.
