Ouch. One day after getting my Bold... So I loaded up the Gmail app on my 9000, which took several tries, actually. Once done, I launched it successfully no problem. I went to do that same thing later last night, and it told me there was a pending operation that required a reboot. I told it to reboot later, did a couple of things, and closed Gmail. I tried re-opening Gmail to get the same prompt, but it wouldn't come back, so I did a battery pull. Apparently it was a bad idea, because when it came back up I was getting "java caught exception" errors about 10 times, my inbox icon had disappeared, my profiles icon had disappeared a bunch of icons disappeared. When in the browser and entering text, and trying to use symbols, a lot of symbols were missing. I did a battery pull right before writing this post to get the java exceptions so I could be more specific, and everything came back! Still missing some symbols, and concerned about the overall health of the O/S. Might be missing other apps, or icons to apps, not sure. I d/l'd the latest O/S, 4.6.0.167, which is actually already loaded on the phone. Not sure what I should do at this point... Any thoughts? Anyone else experience such issues?

Guess it was my imagination. All seems to be well after the lucky third battery pull. No seemingly bad problems, but my stomach doesn't sit well with this one. Also can't downgrade the O/S, so that I can upgrade it back, since I don't see an older O/S than the one that's on it. May have to wait for a new release.

Welcome to the Bold bugs! My advice would have been to update your software, but since your running and AT&T Bold, you are already there. It has happened to me twice. Once I got error 507, the other it was fine. Just make sure you keep up on your backups. The Bold gets temperamental at times.

Yay. Well, I managed to find a copy of .168, and so far so good, I got my symbols back at least. So now I can at least upgrade/downgrade at will here if necessary.

this happened to me today and I returned it and got a different one. I am now on my 2nd one ( in a day ) and both have been giving me issues of replying to emails in that I cant reply sometimes..no send option. this bold may not be ready for the market yet

Are you running .167? And, are you setup on BIS?
I saw this java error today for the first time...
I will pay more attention to it. I just thought it was a random as the phone has been stable for over 48hrs....

had the same issue. a hard rebooting (rebooting after manualling causing a softreboot fixed it). However I still lost my profiles, Blah!!! Ahh well I had only converted one to 9000 schematics. It seems know all my migrated profiles are completely blank despite me using some of the same ring tones found on my 9000 blaargh!! But yes you aren't hte only one. I had my camera disappears (among other apps) after I rebooted.

So, are you going to keep this OS? (.168)
