Default Pity Party - Can't get the Bold..

Please Login to Remove!

So I've been waiting for months and months for the Bold to come out. It's out, I call AT&T and bam! Can't get it. Well, if I want to spend $590-some dollars I can have it, but come on. I can't justify that unless it's made with diamonds.

I upgraded to the curve in Feb, so I'm SOL until prices ease since my contract won't allow me to sign my life away for another 2 years.

I want to Bold so bad though! Sniffles... Sniffles....

Sell the Curve, they still go for $200-250 right? That should make the upgrade more palatable.

I don't know about where you live, but I got lucky on my curve. I was able to upgrade after 6 months to the Curve from the 8800. I just go to some 3rd party store and I was asking pretending to be stupid, lol, and they did the upgrade for me. I find out that some store can do a 6 months upgrade.

Sorry to hear that though.

Go to a store and ask for an exception upgrade. That will put the phone at $475 + $100 MIR so it will come out to $375

I switched from Verizon to ATT in September. I have two Blackberry Curves on my account with data plans and a regular cell phone. I haven't been really happy with the performance of the Curve as a tethered modem and wanted to switch to a 3G BB during my first 30 days but obviously ATT was not offering one. I was told by the ATT 800 people to contact the store manager and see if he could make an exception from the 30 day limit if the Bold did not come out before my 30 days were up. So I called the store a week before my 30 days were up to talk to the manager about switching to a Bold when it came out. He and his assistant manager were out of the store for the week. I left a message and was assured they would call back. I called the store at least twice a week until this week always being only able to leave a message and never getting a call back. This week I talked to a guy who said that he gave the manager the message but the manager said he would not give me an exception. I called ATT 800 number again and explained the situation and that the manager had never called me back. After calling the store and talking to a supervisor, the 800 number cs agent finally offered to let me buy a Bold for $399 without extending my contract. I was asking for the $399 price minus the price of the Curve (which is what I would have gotten had the Bold come out sooner), so I said no thank you to the offer. I thought it was a reasonable offer but not the amount that I want to pay just to have faster tethering. I am still a bit upset with them that the manager never called me back though.

I want to join the pity party! My NIB AT&T Bold cant be unlocked by Horizon Wireless, IMEI isnt in the database.

Now I have to find someone with an AT&T account to request a code for me direct from AT&T themselves.
