Default Bold In Los Angeles?

Please Login to Remove!

I am currently a bb 8830 user with sprint, switching to att to save money (business plan with them for our small business will save 4k a year). I am getting the bold, and its coming in the mail tomorrow. My father has the iphone 3g, and his service is terrible, to say the least. Although sprint is expensive, and the customer service is not great, the service is excellent. I get service EVERYWHERE (literally). Elevators, my room, movie theaters. The only place I remember getting no service was on a drive to AZ, in the desert. Will the experience be the same with the bold? Is there any difference between 3g and evdo? id rather have a crappy phone with service everywhere than the best phone out there, with crappy service. Your honesty would really help as $26k a year in business phone plans are now with sprint...

I have read that 3G iphones had terrible service when they came out. A client of mine had one and always complained about it. From what I've read, the newest firmware updates have taken care of most issues.

I've been using a Bold for a couple months now in the OC area and some in LA. The early OS's seemed to cause dropped calls for me at least but the newer OS is working good so far. I have dropped calls a couple of times but I'm not entirely sure if it's a phone issue or at&t.

Sorry I can't help anymore than that but it's just been my experience so far.

bold in LA seems to be equal reception wise as my old sprint phone.. pretty reliable. never been unable to make a call, occasional dropped calls, but its not that often

I have been using my Bold in LA for 2 months now. I did experience some dropped calls with the earlier OSs, but .167 has been solid for me. With that in mind, ATT's coverage in LA is fairly good. You may run into some issues in the hills and occasionally parking garages or elevators. But that seems to depend on the building an it's location.

Hope this helps,
