Smile Downloading iTunes Films

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All

New here, but got my Bold this week unlocked and using an O2 sim with version .162 (O2 Update) - working a treat, a part from Bluetooth, but thats another post!!

Anyhow - does anyone or has anyone downloaded a film from itunes and been able to put it on their Bold?

Cheers

The videos are DRM protected and not playable on the Bold.

You may want to hit up Google and search for removing DRM from the file.

Sort of got it to work w/ a program called TuneBite. Essentially it opens up iTunes and plays the video you want to remove the DRM from and re-encodes it. So you can't open up any other windows on your computer or they will appear in the video. The free trial version only lets you re-encode 1 minute of video and only does it in a format that the Bold doesn't recognize. When I transferred the video to my Bold, I got audio but no video which leads me to believe that if I bought the full version which allows you to convert the video to mp4 or another compatible format, that it would work on the bold. But it's not the most elegant program and I'm not dying to spend $40 unless I have absolutely no other options.

There is another program called DoubleTwist which seems to be more elegant and is designed to sync your playlists (including videos) w/ a mobile device - sounds perfect, right? But it didn't seem to work. I contacted their support group to have them create a profile for the Bold but not sure they will or that it will work.

What I would love is an alternative to iTunes where I can download DRM free videos (even if they cost more) - not sure such a site exists.
