Default Updating Device Softare

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

I am relatively new to BlackBerries and my Bold 9000 is my first one I have owned.

It was purchased as an unlocked, sim-free phone.

I have updated the phone software to version 4.6.0.162 by downloading a software update from O2-UK's website and I removed the vendor.xml file to allow it to install.

The installation procedure went successfully with no problems, however whenever I connect the BB to my PC and load up the device manager, it always says that the phone needs to be updated with new software again.

So I allow the software to install, reboot the device and upon re-connecting it to my PC again the device manager says that there are software updates available to install!?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the BlackBerry Forums!! To answer your question, on your PC, go to the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, look for the program you installed for the OS and delete it. It doesn't need to remain on your HD after you update your BB. I had the same issue, where everytime you connect to DM, it said you had an "update".
