Default Anyone using Blackberry HS-655 Headset with Bold?

Please Login to Remove!

I am thinking about picking up the Blackberry HS-655 Bluetooth Headset for my Bold since the price has dropped dramatically from when it was first released. First, because it is Blackberry which just makes it seem more "official" to me for lack of a better term and second because it looks small and non-obtrusive and seems to compact easily for charging. I would only use it in the car as I absolutely dispise it when people use them in public places. I can't tell you how many times I have turned around and said "Huh?" to someone talking on those things in a store without me realizing it. But I digress. . . I have read some of the reviews on the net about the device. I've read that it doesn't support call waiting. Anyone have any first hand experience using this headset with the Bold? Also, does anyone know what the difference is (or if there is any) between the HS-655 and the HS-655+? The only difference I can see is the that HS-655 is grey and black and the HS-655+ is solid black. If I don't go with the Blackberry HS-655, I'll probably go with the Jawbone II. Thanks for any input.

:dunno: I've had the HS-655 for a year or so and I have been really happy with it. It worked good with my curve and I think it works great with the Bold!

Don't forget some other benefits like it charges with a standard BB wall charger, car charger and USB cable, this is a HUGE benefit IMO, HUGE...!

I'll second that.

One of the great benefits of the 655 is that there is a charging socket for it in the back of my cradle (not the pod), which means i get to work in the morning and can easily charge it ready for the drive home.

Thanks for your replies. Is it true that the headset does not support call waiting? Seems strange that you can't just press a button and have it switch from call to call.

Also (sorry to go off topic for a sec but...), is there a power station for the Bold yet like the one for the Curve that allows you to plug the headset into the back or does the cradle for the Curve also support the Bold? I have a charging pod for work, but would like to have the power station with the headset charging opening for home.

I've had one for over a year. Worked flawlessly on my Curve. On my Bold, it fails to connect more often than not.

You can indeed get a charging cradle that supports the h/s as well :

Buy a RIM® BlackBerry Bold 9000 Power Station (+ Battery Charger), #ASY-12733-008 - eXpansys UK

Or you may be able to just update the one you've already got - this is all i had to do with the one i used with my 8820.

AWESOME! Thanks for the information. I'll be picking that up along with a Blackberry Headset soon. Any additional reviews or comments about the use of the HS-655 headset with the Bold would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know the difference between the HS-655 and the HS-655+ besides the color?

Not sure what the differences are but I just picked up the 655+ and it's great. Nice fit and great sound. With a price of $17.99 Can. I just couldn't go wrong

Thanks for the info. Man, that is a great price. I haven't found one that cheap. That's a great deal. Does it support call waiting? I had heard that it doesn't.

Hey cwboys - Just curious how the headset is working out and if you've had a chance to test call waiting. I still haven't decided between the "official" Blackberry headset or the Jawbone II. I'd like to hear your experiences before making a decision.
