I'm in big touble with my Bold which will not start, has a black screen but the LED flashed red 4 times then nothing for a few seconds then 4 flashes again and so on.
Nothing else!
Tried all the advice regarding JL_cmdr Apploader etc etc. JL cannot see the Bold and Apploader stalls at the second task "Wait for device initialisation" with the LED 4 x red flashes.
Can anyone tell me what 4 red flashes means?
Is the Bold completely dead?
Any help appreciated...

Thanks for that but I have already tried it with same result as before.
Gets as far as trying to initialise BB and no further with the LEDx4 flashes.
I fear it's broken but no water or drop damage!
Wish someone could explain what 4 red fleshes repeated means.

I have similar problem like your, black screen with one flash and 4 quick flashes, was working fine until I did a battery pull, see my post on silver/lithium battery in bold. So far no one seems to know what the red flashes means.

Out of interest (I have returned my broken Bold) did you manage to solve this or at least figure out what the flashes mean?

Not Yet, I will return it for repair, it is just I have another curve to use for the time being, but my guessed is it had something todo with corrupted Flash ROM. That required some reprogramming that is not available to regular user.
