hiss noise?
 

I have had my bold about a week. Does anyone notice a background hiss during a call?

The phone is fine using bluetooth in the car, but I notice when I hold the device to my ear I get a slight background hiss. It's not terrible, but I noticed it.

i have the same problem. I called rogers they told me they would replace it by a refurbished one because I called on the 31st day after I got the device. Im guessing its a defective device.

mine does a bot as well, I have it before with other gsm phones, not sure if its the phone or just the way it is

I notice the hiss when I have the head set plugged in and I am listening to music, I hear it in between the tracks. I thought maybe it was from the crappy head phones but I could be wrong; maybe RIM used cheap leaky parts in their Bold to save costs!?

Actually it could be something in the software maybe because I just noticed if I stop the music I do hear the hiss noise for a couple of seconds and then it goes away.

i heard a high pitched eeeeee on my unit. Almost akin to feedback. I returned it the same day i got it...got a brand new unit ...no problem.

Unfortunately of the 6 people tested to see the high pitched hiss/electronic feedback 2 of the 6.

.... If you hear it ...return it asap and double check before you leave the store!

I had the same problem! My phone makes the hiss sound which almost makes it sound like my ear is ringing when I hold the phone up to my ear. It only does it when the screen is lit up. I had a post earlier this week that described this same issue. I'm glad I found someone else that has had the problem because I had the same issue with only 2 or 3 people hearing it out of 8 to 10. I just talked to AT&T today and they are sending me a new one tomorrow. I hope I have better luck with it.
