JiveTalk Account Reset on OS upgrade
 
Hi, has anyone else notice that all JiveTalk accounts get removed when you upgrade the OS? This is very annoying! Is there something I need to do to prevent this?

What do you mean removed, from the BB, or the accounts get erased.

Happens on any number of applications. I've sen it with IM+ & IM+ for Skype. Also with Netflix, Google Maps, Windows Live Search, Poynt, Viigo, BBWeather, BBToday and several others that I have deleted.

Yup..same here, all the applications above, plus the upgrades on Docs to Go, account settings for Worldmatelive, Zagat, etc.

In my personal opinion, I get less corruptions when upgrading the OS and not migrating the third party applications, sometimes I get java excep. errors and had to remove and re-download the third party applications anyway.

Having done so many OS upgraded on my 8800, 8820 and now 9000..I have become a pro already with memorizing all my settings..the only thing I find annoying, sometimes I lose the settings on how I have my home page set up and how I have the icons arranged..oh well...fun..fun..fun. I downloaded .190 though yesterday, I hope that will be the latest and greatest for a while....

It's pretty annoying.... I manage 4 email accounts, and I have different tones and settings for each depending on the profile...
3-5 Profiles * 4 accounts = pain

They need to fix this, and they can since this is on the BB side of things, and not a 3rd party application.

I have never had a problem with the profiles.

I agree, very much of a pain...and don't forget the personalized "status" messages, and it gets very time consuming to put things back in order, but having it done so often now, it has become second nature on my end. :razz:
