Default Error 507

Please Login to Remove!

I already did a search, nothing seems to work...

1) Failed while installing OS, then 507 error
2) Phone not recognized, hence battery unplugged, phone connected and recognized by the Loader. Followed procedure but it still stops with an error connected to a "multi-stage operation"
3) JV_Cmdr is not able to connect to the phone either

Solutions?

Thanks

Wirelessly posted (troydbrown is Chad!)

Error 507 indicates no OS on device

Look in the BBfaq section there are instructions on what to do when jl_cmder will not connect

I know how to use search, plus I already said that the device was recognized by loader.exe and the software started installing.

Now, anyone with some other ideas not easily found by using Google?

Thanks

Make sure you USB is a powered port. Move the USB cable to a rear USB port, not a hub or monitor port. Or just change the USB port.

Thanks,

It is a powered port.

I'm starting to feel really pissed because of this. I didn't have any troublesome 3rd party app, plus I already solved a 507 error twice and in less that a couple of hours. Now it's nearly 1 day I'm without my BB...

If I remember correctly, even with 507 the JL_Cmdr should be able to read some device's info. Correct?? I just get an empy notepad file instead...

Error 507 just simply means no OS was found, and you really don't even need JL Cmder for that IF the DM recognizes the BB attached, it will normally prompt to upgrade or install the OS.

Yes, it does that, the problem is that even without OS there is probably something that conflicts with thw new installation, which always ends with an error (as I said, connected to a "multi-stage operation").

I had the same problem with the Pearl of my gf, but some way I managed to have the device wiped by Jv_Cmdr and then the installation went fine. If only I could remember...

I had this problem recently when I was using a Curve a few weeks ago. I figured out that when using Desktop manager 4.6 or 4.5 that it would not load the OS and keep giving that "mulit-stage" error message....spent too much time trying to figure out why....drove me nuts.

but when I used desktop manager 4.3 it loaded the os no problem. The same thing too when trying to update a BB pearl for my girlfriend. 4.6 and 4.5 would give me errors but 4.3 worked fine in loading the OS.

You might wanna try desktop manager 4.3 and see if that works. At this point you have nothing to loose by trying.

Let us know how it works out

I had the same problem today when I upgraded the software on my Bold. Tried a second time and it loaded fine. Didn't do anything different the second time. Running DM 4.6
