Anyone having issues witht the trackball freezing up???

I have been using my new bold for about 3 days now.. I have hit this several times already. I will be navigating around through the application icons and all of a sudden I am unable to go to the left side of the screen. I can access the right 2 columns of icons, go up and down but not to the left! Its very strange..
I don't the ball itself is faulty because it works fine otherwise (when not locking up)....The only thing I can think of is this appears to happen after using Viigo... A battery pull will fix this but I don't want to keep doing this all of the time...
If anyone has had a similar experience please share...
I have already called ATT to get a replacement but I am waiting on approval from my work contact. I almost dont want to switch because everything is working great otherwise. Running 220.127.116.11 on ATT.
Do you carry it in your pocket? Most likely a dirty trackball. Might try a search on how to clean it.
But basically, turn the device off, press and hold the trackball in and first roll to the side that doesn't work. Then roll all around in all directions for several seconds or so. That should dislodge whatever is covering the contacts. Turn back on and hopefully it works.
You might also try pressing the ball in and blowing some canned/compressed ait all around it. That works on my 8800 at times. Should work on the Bold as well, although I have heard that it uses a different track ball
I actually think I have narrowed this down to the Viigo application. It was locking up when that app was opened and then closed with the save option set to "yes". I have uninstalled reinstalled and edited the option. I think this may be it. Appreciate the suggestions though.
My issue was it would only freeze with certain apps open that's why I thought it was SW not the actual trackball itself. But thanks for the info.
