Has anyone bought one of these yet? Just curious about fit/performance.

I've had one since Friday. Fit just like the original, no problems. I needed the extra juice for the work week, so not sure yet as to performance. Info with the battery says performance will increase after 5-6 charges, so it may be awhile before I can evaluate it fairly.

I've posted this elsewhere, but I'll repeat it here.

Some time ago, after some incidents with third-party batteries overheating (not sure if they created fires or blew up, but it was something on that level, I believe), RIM introduced electronics into their OEM batteries. The handsets look for that and if they don't find it, kick in circuitry to slow the charging rate.

For myself, I only use OEM batteries, but I also have a collection of small booster chargers I can use to "top the tank" when I'm away from chargers for any extended period.

Any updates? I'm ready to buy, as I'm just a little short on battery by the end of the day. Just curious how much this helps.

Default First thoughts would be easy 10% increase

Have had the battery for about the last 5 days. Been through I believe 3 full battery uses and full charges. Can't give you exact specifics, but I can definitely tell there is some added power in this battery. With moderate use my original OEM I would take off the charger at 7am and it would be about on the last bar by 10pm. With the Seidio, same overall use throughout the day and this has been the first time I have not charged it overnight....

I agree that I typically only use OEM batteries, however this is my 3rd battery from Seidio (2 for my curve and now 1 for my Bold) and believe they are well manufactured and very reputable.

I actually believe Seidio could squeeze out a larger one that would still fit under the OEM battery door on the Bold...maybe a 1750 or 1800mAH...as there is still plenty of room in there.

Anyway, no problems on my end with this battery. Good luck.

Cheers

mine is shipped and should be here soon...this could be just enough + added a car charger to my car and cradle at office.

1800 mah in original size would be great!

I used Seidio extended battery and door for a 8700 that didn't otherwise get me though the day. It worked well and I'll probably buy the 1650 for the Bold if I decide to keep it.

Figure if the standard battery is rated at 4.5hours talk time, this is only going to get you another 10%, what's that about 25 minutes? Still, better than nothing. Maybe we'll see some improvements with future OS upgrades to help out too. I used mine, what I would call typical to light usage, from 7am and was down to 35% battery by 1pm. Not good.

Regards-Michael G.

I just emailed Seidio at [email address] to find out if they plan on making a slightly larger battery. Maybe enough inquiries and it will become a reality.

Sorry to dredge up an older thread, but how are you all making out? Thinking of purchasing one after x-mas for my Bold. Still noticing a difference in battery life?

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000 (AT&T))

Seems to be the same as the OEM battery?

I'm also interested if anyone has been able to pull more life out of this one versus the OEM battery.

Default I have one

I have been using it for a couple of weeks. I feel I could get about a day and a half out of it. If I left work at 5 or so, by the next morning it was down to 60 to 65% with fairly light usage.
After reading this thread, I put my original battery back in a yesterday. From 5 pm to this morning, it had only gone down to 75%. Could be a battery calibration result, but it would appear that it is no better if as good as the original based on casual observation. Will continue to watch it.

Thanks temoore! That's exactly what I'm looking for.. Let us know your thoughts after a few more days. I noticed my battery life is up and down depending on what my BlackBerry is doing. With so many applications running it kills it quicker, just have to manager what apps are running in the background using the Task Switcher.

I'm running .210 so I waited to ensure it wasn't adding to the life.

Battery change and 210 added at least 20% to battery life. Not sure which is causing most of it.
