Hi, was hoping to tap into the collective expertise of this forum!
So here's my issue - I ripped a couple of my DVD's onto my computer using Magic DVD Ripper (awesome app, you get 5 free trials but I'm going to buy it for $35, it's a good deal). The DVD's ripped fine as .avi files with the video format of XVID. I then used Any Video Converter (freeware) to convert the file to mp4 for mobile apps. The files converted fine and play on the Bold. However, I had a few questions:
1) Does the Bold play XVID files directly? I thought so but wasn't sure
2) Which file format (XVID or mp4) plays and sounds better on the Bold in your opinion? I would prefer XVID (if it's supported by the Bold, just so I'm saved one extra step) but if mp4 is superior, I'll go with that.
3) In the mp4 files, there are black letterbox bars on the top and bottom of the picture. A little annoying, since the screen is small to begin with! Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? If I went with XVID, would I have the same problem?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
