Default Unopened Message Icon

Please Login to Remove!

I recently say that the unopened message icon was showing one message in my personal e-mail, but when I opened the folder, it showed "No Messages." I can't seem to get the icon togo off. Is there any suggestions for a fix?

When this happened to me, I eventually realized that I had somehow inadvertently "saved" an unopened message.

In your message screen options, select "View Saved Messages", and you may find the message that's causing unopened message icon.

If it's not that, I don't know what it might be.

This also happened to me with a personal email.

I had viewed it in my personal email app, but I had not viewed it in the "Messages" app (the icon that looks like a closed envelop).

I cleared out the message and reconciled my setup, and haven't had a problem since. Hope that helps

Wirelessly posted

This can also happen if you have an SMS message, and have a theme that separates SMS from e-mail, and also have the default option setting to allow the theme to drive whether SMS messages are separated from e-mails.

If this is the case, then while viewing your messages, Alt-s will display your SMS messages…

I had the same problem too! But I don't know if mine's exactly the same... I just did a soft reset, and it disappeared when it booted back up... At least in my case.

go into the msg window and press "U" to find that unread msg.

happens sometimes when the date is wrong on mine, and the msg ends up being all the way at the bottom

I had the same issue. Rebooted the phone Alt > Caps > Del and it went away.

I come across that problem all the time when I'm on a power-delete mission, and end up deleting emails too fast for the Berry to keep up. It gets confused and keeps the icon up even though the messages are deleted. I even tried going "Mark all read" and it still didn't work. Finally, my friend suggested pulling the battery out and then starting it up again -- and it works every time.

Default Battery Pull works, but check for saved messages.

I've had the phantom 1 unopened message icon many times since I got my BB Bold six months ago. A battery pull solved the issue every time, except today.

Thanks to this thread I looked for a "saved" unopened message. Found 1, opened it, and the icon disappeared.

Thanks very much.
