Default gps blackberry bold?

Is the GPS on the blackberry bold stand alone? I have an unlocked one from RIM so I didn't know if it charged from the data plan if I used the data plan. Also does anyone know any sites to get free maps that would work on the the blackberry bold? Thanks!

Welcome to the BBForums.

GPS is built-in to the 9000. There is no additional charge to use it outside of having a Data Plan.

Google Maps is a great free application for the GPS.

Take your BB browser to Google Maps

GPS itself is not charged for, it is free to use. If you use map software that requires maps to be downloaded then this will be charged with your internet (or included with any free data that you may have on your account).
