Default Can RIM or ATT now delete apps remotely???

Please Login to Remove!

I have installed Mobile Gmaps on my Bold twice. After 6 hours or so, it mysteriously disappears. The icon is gone and is not hidden. Also the application is not listed under option|advanced|applications. It is gone!!!

Has anyone else experienced this???

No, but I wonder if your phone is so full that it deleted it automatically. I know the phone will do that with messages and phone logs but I don't think applications. Ther eis no reason that AT&T would remove Mobile Gmaps. If it was BBmaps, then maybe I would think about it, but not Mobile Gmaps. I have it and have not had a problem.

Maybe you had the wrong version and it caused an error on your phone without you knowing.

Your are high:

-Blackberries do not under and circumstances delete application to make room. They do however delete phone logs, emails, and other records (starting with oldest first) if the device is running out of memory. To suggest a BB would wipe an app to make space is ludicrous.

-ATT does not let you install BB maps for one reason: it provides free access to GPS mapping. They do this so they can sell you Telenav. Mobile GMaps is a free GPS app. If they have a reason to preclude you from installing BB maps, they would use the same reason to preclude you from installing (or uninstalling) Mobile GMaps. So, why in the heck would you say, "...but not Mobile Gmaps"? That makes zero logical sense.

-The app does run, when it is on the device.

-Me out of space, even though that is irrelevant...no way:

hahaha, take it easy buddy. I was trying to help and this is how you react? This is not a good way to get people to help you. Remember, YOU were the one asking for help. I never said that blackberries actually delete applications to make room. I said I wonder if that's the case. I KNOW that's the case for phone logs and such as I stated before " know the phone will do that with messages and phone logs but I don't think applications."

As you said, BBmaps gives you free GPS. So does Google maps, and as I said before, I have google maps without a problem, so I know they don't block it.

A simple "no" could have doen when I referenced that you didn't have enough space.

Oh, and by the way, GENIUS, you have a BB 8300 and you are asking questions on the BB 9000 forum. Maybe you should direct your questions towards the forum of your phone....

And please, there is no need to get so aggressive when someone is trying to help you. If you didn't want the suggestions, then don't ask.

haha, and to suggest that AT&T is remotely deleting applications off of your phone, THAT is ludicrous.

I think the OP is just high and forgot to change their device in the profile.

Now lets get back to the question or I will close the thread.

Let me remind you that YOU were the one to initially insinuate that AT&T remotely deletes applications.

I tried to help. Did you check to make sure you didn't download the wrong version to your desktop? If you downloaded OTA, then it should catch it.

Monty Python and The Holy Blackberry here.

And sorry I have no idea why you're having problems. I have BBmaps and Google Maps working fine on my Bold.
