This is more of a research aproach first. I'm now own the BlackBerry Pearl with T-Mobile as my carrier. If I do decide to buy a BB Bold unlocked without contract, is it as simple as taking the SIM card out of my Pearl and insert it into the Bold and expect it work? Or, is it more involved than this?
I feel here in UK T-Mobile have unofficial released Bold to some customers. And they have firmware on their download support on t-mob-UK website.
I feel suggests that T-MOB can support Bold;
However I have learned that some user have difficulties with some features?
I am hoping to stick T-MOB simcard in unlocked Bold soon. However I hope that I am not restrict to 2G or 'edge' as opposing to 3G and 'EDGE' and I hope I have full functionality (internet browising PUSH email etc etc etc)

yes, you will get EDGE as your signal indicator and no 3G service, however.
No, no 3G on T-Mobile. You'll get EDGE just like on your current BB. You also won't get the built-in web browser or email without jumping through some hoops.
There are some people who have used unlocked Bolds on TmobUSA successfully. the problem/workaround is the browser, but it can be done. Do a search, I think the person who figured it out was on Crackberry forum.
I have to use BOLD on Tmo twice so far and TMO keeps telling me that they do not have service books for Bold. so it will not work. their a workaround that our friends posted to my last posting. I have not tried it yet but right of box an unlocked bold will not work on TMO netwrok
