Question Where to buy an unlocked Rogers/unbranded Bold

Please Login to Remove!

Hi.. I'm trying to find a place that sells either a Rogers or unbranded Bold to use on AT&T. I live in an area with very spotty 3G coverage and I don't want the hassle of being forced to deal with outages due to AT&T being short sighted and forcing the 3G radio on. I'd also like my battery to last longer than a day due to the freakin 3G radio sucking it dry trying to locate signal.

However, here is my problem. I can get plenty of unlocked phones on ebay or various retailers, however none of them will cover the phone after the initial X day exchange period (usually 7 or 30 days).

I'd like to find someone that will actually work with you if you need warranty service after that. RIM refusing to work with end users (and Rogers refusing to deal with USA owners) for warranty work really blows, and it really makes me uncomfortable to buy a phone for a serious premium with virtually no recourse if something goes wrong. I've had to replace 3 8310's by warranty for various hardware failures, so I'm not at all confident that the Bold will be any more reliable.

Thanks for the help!

I've looked, but it appears that if you want warranty coverage after the first few days, you have pay to a significant fee for that honor. I don't want to have to pay EXTRA to get what the phone should come with standard. Maybe I'm asking too much.
