I admit it: I'm not a technical BlackBerry god. BUT, I've been using them for years and years, and I've never (so far) seen anything like this.

I loaded and then unloaded a hunk of caller ID software (Privus). I unloaded it because, frankly, I couldn't make it work. BUT, when I deleted it ... somehow, some way, my PROFILES were also deleted. Not just the profiles, but the profile icon, too.

Now, before you suggest a hard reset ... been there, done that. Many, many times.

Is the icon just "hiding"? No. I've restored and moved around all the icons. It doesn't show up anywhere.

Does the phone ring? No. And, no alerts. No alarms. However, the sound files are all there.

When I start up from a hard reset, I get an error message: "Uncaught exception: -1" Just like that. And no profiles.

Any ideas?????? This is an out-of-the-box Bold, one week old today, from AT&T.

Sounds like it's time to upgrade to the latest OS. If that doesn't work, then you may need to Wipe with JL_Cmnder and reload the latest OS.

I get that sometimes, I just do a battery pull.

I get that quite a bit as well, sometimes all my message folders disappear as well... And other times i have to do several battery pulls to get things back to normal.. Another thing i notice is my home screen picture changes when things disappear...
