I have a new unlocked bold from rogers and I am on fido with data plan.
when I have a wifi in the area it is perfect to browse but if I close the wifi or I am in area when no wifi avaliable...as soon as Im trying to open the browser it claims that I dont have wifi avaliable, which is "make sense"
but how the hell I am connecting to the fido internet if that browser keeps on demanding wifi.
I have configured the APN, user and pass and I was able to use IM skype , so I understand that the phone is capble using the fido internet network..
but how\where do i get a browser that will do it also in order to just surf the net????

when I go to browser configuration I only have hotspot browser and cannot be changed

To use the Blackberry Browser you need a Blackberry Data Plan. Not some generic smart phone data plan but a bonafide Blackberry plan. You can use Opera Mini to surf the 'net over a regular smart phone data plan, but not the built-in browser.

i have got mine to work by downloading opera mini and change my apn setting. i have a new question though. I use T-mobile in the US and got myself an unlocked bold. would internet access cost extra? i have unlimited international mail, but not sure about now.

I used a Curve before and all was included, email and web surfing outside of the US, without changing APN setting.

Without a data plan you will be charged by the kb of data you use. That can get real expensive real fast! The T-Mo Blackberry Unlimited add-on is about the best deal in Blackberry data anywhere. And it's truly unlimited everything, except text messaging.
