Default help! can't get webmail on my blackberry bold

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
I just switched from a (truly horrible) palm treo 750 to a blackberry bold. The palm had terrible hardware, but the windows operating system was really simple! I don't understand all the options available with Blackberry, such as BES and BIS and different browsers and whatnot. mine says I am using 'Internet Browser'.

My problem is that I am trying to simply access a webmail account (not push) online. I have a few of them, one is typically accessed at webmail.juno.com. When I try to go to that page, it first gave me a 502 Gateway error saying it was a bad gateway. Then I tried switching the browser, and then went back, to Internet Browser again, but the error now is 503 Service Unavailable. It says there is temporary overloading of the server. It opens other pages, just bot any webmail pages. All my webmail accounts are opening fine on my computer.

I am desperate to be able to use my email on this device. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks!

Is there a reason you don't want the mail pushed to the BB. I have webmail for work and don't have any problems with the push.

I want to eventually, but I don't understand the push thing yet and until I have time to really figure it out, I'd like to be able to just access the sites online.

The push email is MUCH easier than doing it the webmail way.

Just use the "manage internet email" icon on your home screen and follow the instructions there. Just add your existing email addresses.

it's simple. You have a BlackBerry Data plan, right?

Thanks, I'll give it a try! I've been reading that I need to download it on the WAP browser... is that true? what is the difference between that and the regular browser?

To set up your email you do this on the PC, much easier. Then the email gets pushed right to the BB, that's all.

I don't think I have a BlackBerry Data plan, they didn't mention that at the AT&T store. I do have unlimited data, is that different? I'm sorry to be asking so many 101-type of questions!

They should have set you up with an unlimited data BlackBerry plan. In fact, you said you had the "Internet Browser" so you should be good to go. Do you have a "Manage Internet Email" icon on your home screen?

I don't have any icon like that on my home screen, or anywhere that I can find it...

Create a new account
they also now have att.blackberry.com

makes it easier to remember if one is on another computer and doesn't have it bookmarked.

If you really want to access webmail.juno.com, you should check if they Juno has a mobile or "PDA-friendly" version of their webmail. Many webmailers to have that. For example

m.gmail.com
