Default Upgrading an Unlocked BB9000's Firmware ( originally T-Mobile )

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

i got my BB9000 in a store , it was unlocked.
( verified it by "SIM Card: Security Disabled" )

in Israel where i live , there is currently no BB9000 retailing operator
so i just registered this one to my company BB server.

So My NEWB Questions Are :
1. can i upgrade my device to any later firmware ( from any other operator than i can just download anywhere ? and will the unlock break ?
cause this is the main issue for me.
2. my current BB version supports Hebrew read\write ( and even UI if needed)
will it remain on my device ? is it in every firmware ?
3. anything i should be aware of when i want to upgrade ?
4. how do i get release notes or "what changed" from my build to a newer build ?

1. Will not break the unlock, you can download a new os just delete the vendor.xml file *(See #2)
2. Hebrew is found on some most installs iirc but not every release may have that language pickable, when upgrading you choose the languages to be installed if the language is not found in the install you will not be able to pick it
3. all your 3rd party apps/profiles preferences will have to be redone, can take over an hour depending on your model/device/email #/ etc for a full backup/install (recommended)
4.there are none, read the release note forum post for "unofficial" notes
.190 for instance does not show thumbnails for any media(pictures specifically maybe movies) found in the device does show them if they are found on the media card...
RIM does not publish release notes generally for any. Major os changes 4.2 and 4.5 /4.6 4.7 are someone described but in an official manner generally.
Q10! <- Love the 9000!! It's everything I wanted (minus enough ON BOARD memory)!!
<-9700 ---! more memory! small screen&keypad :( ->
