Question Retractable USB cable with Bold???

Please Login to Remove!

I have a retractable USB cable that I used just fine with my 8100, 8820, and 8310. However, it does not work with my 9000. When I connect it, I see the lightning bolt on the battery for just a second and then it goes away and DM does not recognize the device.

Is there any thing different with the Bold that would make it not work???

Should work fine with it.... I have a PocketPC Techs retractable USB that I use in the car with a lighter attachment and it works/charges fine in my WinMo phones from HTC and my new BB Bold.

Maybe try crimping the center (gently) of the USB blade to get a tighter fit in your Bold.... might be just a loose connection....

I use retractable USB cables from two different vendors to charge my Bold on different computer systems (home and work). Both work great. I use a Dynex cable at work, and a Re-track (I think that is what it is called) cable at home. Maybe your Bold is just finnicky about that particular cable you have.

That's what I'm thinking. I'll have to get a new one at Fry's... Good reason to tell the wife I need to go to Fry's...

PS - It's nice to see a local person on here. I work in Carp.
