just got my bold yesterday and am loving it. I was wondering if the red notification icon can be shown on a folder. For example, instant messaging has a folder w/ gchat, aim, and bb messenger inside. When I get an IM from one of those apps, can the folder be set to have the notification like the messages folder?

If I understand you correctly you want the parent folder to show that red Astrix on it to show that one of the applications inside have an event to be acknowledged.

I don't think this is possible as the folder would have to be aware of the application inside and the APIs for the folders don't support this. This would be a good thing for RIM to put in development that parent folders get notified of all events inside them. Would be a good addition.

Most people just use the event icons on the dashboard to see what is happening.
