Default Am I the only one experiencing this? Does anyone have a solution?

Please Login to Remove!

I received my Bold about a month ago on ATT, running on BIS. I upgraded to .190 and since I did, I cannot open .3gp videos(videos sent from Bold to Bold) in my email account, which is Gmail. I was receiving them fine on .167

I wiped my handset, downgraded to .167 and still cannot open the videos from an email attachment, i get the error, "this type of media cannot be viewed on your device" I have to download them and load them in Media player to play

Does anyone have an idea that can help me?? I will make a donation in their pay pal if they can get it fixed! im so frustrated! ive done numerous battery pulls, deleted and resent service books, as well as my email account. Searched every forum on the internet... .I think I'm the only one experiencing this!

Your thoughts and suggestions are sincerely appreciated... thanks Blackberry Forum-ers!

Have you tried to re-load (re-send the email) the video(s) in question or are you trying to play the one(s) that was/were on your device prior to your upgrade?

You might try to push a new one to the device post-upgrade.

I'm having the same issue with .mp4 files (actually a bunch of my bold users are having the issue). It says it can't open the attachment but then when I save the attachment I can go to the Video icon inside Media and play it. Very annoying, it was opening these mpeg4 files directly from e-mail (as long as they are under 10 megs) a couple of weeks ago.

That sounds like a winner! I bet it has something to do with the available memory. Have not seen any written stuff about this but I bet if you play around with the memory allocation i.e. remove some apps and get your available back up higher it will start playing them directly through the email. Thisis only a guess mind you and I have not personally experienced the issue myself. I may try and send myself a video and see what the behavior is.

Just as an update, I don't think its memory related since I wiped a device and installed the latest software and it did the same thing as before, you have to download the .mp4 and even though it says it can't play it will be in your video files and will play fine. All of my bold users still running .167 have no problem just opening the attachments.
