Default Migration from Palm

Please Login to Remove!

Have searched high and low, but can't find a remedy. I'm trying to use the migration wizard that comes with the BB Desktop application -- should be nice and straightforward.

I disabled wireless sync on the memopad BB app, and ran the wizard. Says it won't work for Calendar, Address Book and Tasks (because wireless sync active for those), which is fine -- I just want to start trying to import the Memopad stuff and move on from there.

It gets as far as opening up Palm Desktop, then it displays a dialog saying just "Palm Desktop 4.1.4". Just under that, in a separate dialog, is one saying "Syncing memopad records... record numer 0... exporting records from Palm Desktop". I OK the dialog on top saying "Palm Desktop 4.1.4", then immediately a dialog opens saying "Desktop organizer data was not imported successfully. Errors occurred during the process."

In fact, no data was imported.

Any ideas how to get this working correctly?

Thanks,

Mike

I don't think the BB will sync with Palm Desktop. At least when I migrated a couple years ago it didn't. Try syncing your Palm device with Outlook and then sync the BB with Outlook. That should work. Might have to load the Outlook conduit to get Palm to talk to to Outlook however. Your device user guide should explain how it is done.

I recently migrated someone from a Palm Treo to a BB Bold. Follow Dubdub suggestion and you should be okay.

We use MS Outlook (or Lotus Notes in our case) as the initial hub to dump data from a Palm O/S device to be imported into a BlackBerry.
