Default Earpiece Call Quality

Please Login to Remove!

I'm running 1.90 on a 1 week old unit. When calls come in from other AT&T Wireless phones the volume seems to be so loud that it has a tinny sound, almost like the speaker sounds "scratchy." I lowered the volume to 2 bars and it still is there; though not as pronounced. I also tried to the call enhance feature to add bass; that helped a bit but not much.

Could this be a problem with the .190 software or possibly a defective unit? Any ideas?

When I use my blue ant or speakerphone the call quality is perfect.

Thanks!

maybe try switching from earpiece, to speaker, and back to earpiece? I noticed that when I accidentally put my movies into earpiece, and turned it all the way up, and was wondering why it wounded like that, and i switced between the 2 and everything was fine. I dont know if this fully answers your questions, but it might help.

For anyone that has a device younger then 30 days please take it back to the store. Don't waste your time even if it's a stupid solution if your device is defective then you have a record that it was before the 30 day return policy ran out.

I have perfect call quality from mine even cranked. It sounds like the plastic might be cracked on the cone of the speaker.

Definitely returning the unit now. Its just a bit of a hassle as I did an upgrade through Amazon.

I just spoke with someone from their wireless group and it seems like it should be no problem. They just have to pass it on to someone else who authorizes sending a replacement out with the ARS label / etc.

Thanks guys!

I have .210 installed on my BOLD and tested out the ear piece that came with the phone today outside in the wind and I was surprised I could hear people on the other end and they could hear me! I wonder if the problems I was having when I first got the phone in November was related to the firmware?
