Do you have a blackberry data plan? If so, has the service been pushed to your blackberry yet?

Have you gone to your carrier's BIS web portal and associated your blackberry's PIN with the BIS service, then pushed service books?

what is BIS?

EDIT: ok, never mind, i've read here what it is:
General BIS FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ

my Q is ...
i've configured my gmail which i also use outlook configured to my gmail. i've configured gmail with the BIS.... will that give me the ability to get my gmail emails pushed to my device as well? in HTML format???
what is the benefit of using BIS and not the gmail app?

Yes all of your new messages from your gmail account should now get pushed to your blackberry. On my bold the email usually comes into my blackberry before it appears in the inbox on my computer. I personally can't speak to the benefits of this over the gmail app because I've never used it, but why load extra applications on the device that you don't need?

If you are a BES, then the company IT Policy probably prohibits adding email via BIS. Many companies lock down what their employees can do with their devices. And since the company pays the bills, it is their right to do so.

If this is a personal BB, I never recommend putting a personal device on a company BES because there is no longer any personal data on the BB.

There is. Open your email folder, hit the menu key, email settings, you should have a setting that says enable HTML Email. Make sure it is set to yes. Done!

I would assume that is the problem. Im not very familiar with BES and don't want to give you any bad scoop about trying to configure your BIS in HTML. Sorry!.

When you go into Options > Email Settings, check the "Message Service" at the top of the list. BES is usually called "Desktop" although this can be renamed. Other BIS accounts should show up one by one. If you change the "Message Service" you are trying to config, you might get different options.

No...
The options that you are listing there sound like the BES message settings (none of my BIS accounts offer out of office or auto sig config on BB).

I have the same list, BUT before "Send email to handheld" I have a line right at the top saying "Message Services:" and mine is set to "Desktop" i.e. BES. Also right at the bottom of the list, after out of office auto reply, I have "Enable HTML email" and "Download images automatically"

I have 3 BIS accounts on the BB, and they all give me the options for:
Enable HTML Email
Confirm Delivery
Confirm Read
Send Read Receipts

I'll have to have a think why some of your options are missing.

Have you tried logging into your provider's BIS config site, and resending service books?

yes i did..... i do see the service book in advanced options and the all have a V sign... indicating that they are ok
hmmm.
now i just saw something when i went to service book , and got into 1 by 1 i saw them all in "active" except for the last one which is "name@gmail.com (CMIME) and when i click on that it says : record type: dissalow

and i cant change that, when i click there all i have is :show HRT

is that maybe connected to the issue?

Maybe your BES has a lockdown.
I allow HTML on mine, but I suppose in theory if your BES admin has disabled HTML, it might push through to BIS accounts.

I'll try and remember to have a play with this on Monday
