My question is I had a BB 8100 and used the BB Messenger on it and when the 8100 was dropped in Chocolate Milk and replaced with the BB Bold the Edit My Info section will not let me Edit My Info the information that was on my old 8100 is displayed on my New BB Bold and I can not Replace what it says I can Edit My Status But not the Info Part. I was told that I would have to delete BB Messenger and start over again with it in order to Change the Info. If anyone can Help me out here I would be grateful.......

Are you opening your messenger then hitting the menu key and scrolling to My Status and trying to edit your message? Is that what you are trying to change? Are you still using .167 OS?

Yes I am going to the BB messenger and hitting the menu key and scrolling down and trying 2 Edit My Info. and can not but I can Edit My Status.. and yes .167 OS

Very strange... Have you tried a battery pull? I'm not sure how to re-install the BB messenger. I guess you would have to use desktop manager to remove it then re-install it that way. I would also recommend upgrading your OS to .210. It is far better than .167 and the most stable beta out there however, if the only issue is with your BB messenger then you might want to stay with .167.

Yes I have tried the battery pull still does not work and I do not feel comfy with deleting it off then putting it back on because i have also been told do not do that either. And yes the bb messenger is the only problem im having. I just hate when i am using messenger it says what was on my old bb. Oh well that's life it is what it is lol...Thank you for your help and time.

No problem. Honestly though, there shouldn't be any problems if you used desktop manager to re-install your messenger program. There are plenty of walkthroughs to help you with installing software and such. It is a very simple process, and I completely understand your standpoint with playing with your new toy. After I got the courage to mess with my phone I haven't stopped. LOL

I feel ya there nothing wrong in playing with our toys thats why we get them LOL...I dont even do the desktop manager never have. I even took the phone back to the store and they said they had no clue and the guy I deal with has a bold also and he was like I have no clue lol... But like i said it is what it is.... I even told the guy there at the store I needed to come work part time there as much as I play with my Bold

Yeah feel ya there cuz if they do not use their phone like we do then they never know about the issues....That is why we have Forums..4 real people who use them daily...
