Default Batt./Sim Card Pull Make Clock Wrong?

Please Login to Remove!

Just got my bold and decided to keep using my curve when I go to the gym...

So, every morning I have to yank my sim card out of my bold and put it in my curve (annoying) but fine.

When I put the sim card back in my bold, the clock is wrong on my bold. I have it set to network time. I also click update time and nothing seems to happen.

I have to change it via the keypad. Any advices?

Secondly...having mentioned switching out phones for the gym, does anyone know if there is a way I can like get a duplicate sim card from att or something where i dont have to pull it in and out of the bold? Its a lot harder to get out of the bold than it is the curve. Thanks so much, you folks are always on point!

Did you check your timezone settings? I'll bet that the timezone is wrong, so when it updates from the network time, it changes the clock to match that timezone.

You can get a blank SIM card and a SIM copier. Then just make sure you only have one device on at a time.

Well, the timezone would be the only reason that the time would change.

No, you will have to find a blank AT&T SIM card and copier from a 3rd party.

If I have my battery out for more than say, 15 seconds, my time MAY be wrong. A prompt will come up asking me to verify the time, and/or update.

If the battery is only out for a shorter period or I do a soft reset or alt-caps-del, the time will always be correct.

The time is not out by "even" hours.

And yes, I know what time zone I am in, too. ;)

Yeah, that makes sense. When you pull the battery out to switch SIMs, do you leave it out until you are done with the Curve, or do you replace the battery as soon as you remove the SIM card?

Thanks for bringing that up klotar....guud point!

Yes corey, it's out for a while....about 1 hour 45 mins. I did notice that if it's a short amount of time that the card is out, the time is fine but longer....it gets all busted up.

THOUGH, this morning, I just looked at my bold when I came back downstairs and it has the right time upon inserting the sim card after the gym this morning, so......go figure.

Either way, I guess this is something that won;t drive me bonkers, maybe just a strange little going on with extended battery/sim pulls

Hey there well please let me know what the problem could be...

If I have my battery out for a bit like 1 minute or so my time remains the same as at the time I pulled the battery out...
