Default Slacker Radio

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys...just download Slacker Radio for the Blackberry. It is pretty cool you are suppose to cache the stations to conserver battery life but it keeps telling me I need 125mb of free memory I have a 2gb with 300mb free so I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

The download is at Slacker dot com/mobile/blackberry...oh and it is free!

I have it running and the cache feature works well for me. I have an 8GB and a 16GB card. Works on both.

I cant seem to get the Cache feature to work for me either. I have an 8GB card with 4.7GB available, but it's not showing any cached stations... Anyone know where to find this, or what I need to do to find them? I already connected to my PC 3 times and it's still not there. Even ran DM 2 of the 3... I found the slacker.synclauncher.exe file, but I cannot get it to do anything... do I need to run it on my BB? please help, thanx!

Select Help from the menu in the Slacker Radio app on your phone. The first question in the FAQ explains caching and how to use it.

To make it easier to find:

The way I understand it is, you mark the station(s) for caching, and when the phone is connected to a computer via USB the station cache is downloaded to the device.

What point are you at? Connecting to the PC via USB and nothing happens?

I tried to mark the station and that where it is giving me the error. the way I understand it is that you mark the station and then when you connect it will cache the station. But I can't even mark it.

exactly! I even tried to copy the .exe file to my desktop and run it, but it wont run. I dont get the "Slacker Station Refresh Utility" it says you need to to begin updating the stations.

I installed this app : http://www.slacker.com/dwls/slacker.....refresher.exe. I think you have to properly install the app to get the necessary registry entries.

While listening to a station, I select "Cache Playing Station" which then pops a window telling me how many stations I have chached and how many more I have space for.

When I connect my phone via USB, my PC asks what action to take with the new device... one of the options (after installing the Station Loader) is to use the Station Loader app.

A small window then opens showing a status bar and the stations are loaded onto my phone.

yup! I got that, and I marked 3 stations for cache.

However, I do not get this when I connect to my PC. I get the window for take what action, but when I try to run the slacker.synclauncher.exe, i get nothing.

I may have to wait till i get home tonight and try this on my home PC as I am on a school PC right now. I can do just about everything else though. I even downloaded BB DM when I got my phone in case I needed to do anything to it while I was here.

thank you for the suggestions so far!

I installed the refresher file that Shaun referred to. It doesn't seem to do anything for me. When I connect my BB, I get the option to Sync Slacker Stations or whatever it says. When I try that, I get the following error:

What do I do??

Not sure on that error. I would try some of the general troubleshooting tactics, turn off my firewall (temporarily), reboot my PC, reinstall the refresher app (and restart), make sure I have full internet connection, check my router MTU settings etc.

If none of the standard items solve the issue, I would take the issue to the Slacker Support Forums (Official Slacker Forums • Slacker BlackBerry Application).

There is also a support by email and support chat available on their site. Let us know what you find so others can benefit.

Okay so I try the station refresher but it didn't resolve the issue. So I emptied my Memory card even though I had over 500 mb free and then Slacker Cache started working. I'm going to try and re add the movies i had deleted and see if causes any issues with slacker.

thats odd, I have 2 movies on my SD card and I was able to cache 8 stations after I downloaded and recieved the utility. Even more odd, as per the device, my SD memory had not been effected, still shows I have (IIRC) 4.3GB left on my 8GB (7.4GB avail) card.

And yes, I did a battery pull.
