Default Email Attchment - .wav or mp3

Please Login to Remove!

I receive voice mail messages as either .wav or .mp3 as mail attachments.

When I attempt to open the attachments i get "This attachment type cannot be viewed on your device". But it can play these files from the SD card.

Any ideas??

My first guess is the file size is too big ---I seem to remember that happening to me with a particularily long (ie, large file) message.

I think there is a 2.9 MB limit on attachment sizes on a BB on AT&T. Or it may be limited to media files like mp3's to avoid file sharing craziness. Of course this begs the question, how do you download a song or video from iTunes bigger than 2.9 MB?

Crazy in 2009...

Aloha,

Thanks Snap & nyc. After a bit of digging around I believe that if you are on BES 4.1 or higher you can play .wav or .mp3 as attachments. We are on 4.0.x so no good. Tried looking for some software and AudioPop seemed to do they job except it does work on BES.

So anyone know of any software to play or save attachments which works with BES?

Getting desperate now; seems pointless upgrading the BES for this functionality.
