Getting ready to order the bold next week, waiting to get under 90 days before my t-mobole contract expires. With that, me ETF will only be $50.00. Looking at the rebate info listed on newegg...

For a limited time, receive $100.00 in Visa Reward Cards from AT&T when ordering service on-line from this website, purchase the BlackBerry Bold Black, and sign a 2 year service agreement on a BlackBerry Personal Plan or a $45 or higher BlackBerry data rate plan plus an AT&T Voice Plan of $39.99 or higher. Credit approval and two year contract required. Early termination fee may apply. Void where prohibited. One rebate per activated phone as described above.

My question is...What the heck is a Blackberry Personal Plan? Is that any different from a regular rate plan for the actual cell phone? Confused..

Yes, BB Personal Plan is the Data Plan required to access the BB features, such as email sent to your BB. This is in addition to a voice plan.

Thanks Corey..just realized you could get just a data plan if you wanted to. I wanted to be sure before ordering. That's what was throwing me off. Don't really want to pay $299.99 in the retail store!!

No, you must get a data plan and a voice plan for the offer. Be careful!!

Now I'm confused...the official disclaimer says a 2 year agreement on a data plan OR a $45/month or higher data plan plus a voice plan of $39.99 or higher??

** nevermind...I just realized, just a data plan, OR a $45/month data plan AND the $40.00/month or higher voice plan. So much for the $30/month BB data plan.......Thanks!!!!

As per what you posted, you need both.

Actually, getting a Data Plan is incorrect.
You need BIS (Blackberry Internet Service).

It is different from a regular Data Plan.

With BIS, you get the Blackberry Email, it also enables your GPS and any other data based applications that requires BIS. Any plain Data Plan won't allow you to download the GPS maps since it has no access to the BIS.

Rogers plans are extremely different from T-Mobile and AT&T. T-Mobile has a plan called "Minutes and Mail" that includes both voice and BB data. I have that for my wife's BB.
