Default More ??'s..kinda concerned

I want the bold and am seriously thinking about getting it but have a concern. Everyday I read this forum and everyday I see people having issues/problems with software, problems with applications, and a few with battery overheating. Am I making a mistake in deciding to get the Bold, or is so many people having issues because the Bold is new, with new programs and applications?

You have to put things into context. This is probably the best and most popular BB community. So, you will see many problems and issues on here from x amount of users. But, keep in mind that there are so many many others out there who don't have any issues with their Bold.

I have owned an 8100 that has been flawless for two years, but if I were to look at the 8100 thread on here, I would assume that the 8100 is a train wreck.

Just some food for thought man.

As 341.... said, we really only see the problems that people are having. Some are hardware related, some are software and some are caused by the user themselves (not a knock just a fact).

You can always get one and take it for a test drive and see if it works for you as you need.

I definitely third 341. It is all relative and the Bold is a solid device overall. And even if you do have problems, we're always here to help

341 probably said it best but this place is like the garage I take my Rubicon for an oil change, I have not had an issue with mine and love it but others bring in theirs with issues and questions because thats where they can get answers, We all come here to learn and aske questions about our Bolds. I love mine by the way.

Default My BOLD

I am on my sixth BlackBerry (since August 21, 2001) and - as others have said - this is the best yet.

I think a lot of the concerns expressed are carrier-based. Despite what folks might think, Rogers is an awesome carrier.

When I had my 8800, I got paranoid after reading all of the complaints about dust under the screen. you know what? I got a little dust and it wasn't the end of the world.

I love my BOLD, I upgraded to .190 for better battery life, and set my clock options to not display the clock when I plug it into the charger, as it seems that it was causing problems in the morning or in the car when i have it in the cradle. I love my BOLD, it's the best blackberry I've owned.

I think it really depends on how much you are going to do with the bold. If you're going to completely modify the thing and do application development, then I can see having more issues then other people.

341 said it best!!

Yeah I agree with everyone here... Go for it, you're not going to regret it. If you have any issues, get a warranty replacement! Have fun

Go to any forum for any type of device and you're going to see a lot of issues. I just got a Bold and I couldn't be happier with it.

Exclamation How do you use a phone? You need to know

I have had my Bold for 35 days now, and I really like it. And I have had a lot of smartphones in the past. Really, you should determine if you want the Bold type of smartphone, e.g., hardware keyboard+no touch screen, vs. a touch screen phone, like iPhone/Storm, with no keyboard, vs. something like the HTC Touch. Since all the best phones cost about the same price, you need to know exactly what you want.

I like a dedicated keyboard, and a portrait layout. I had a Treo 750 before, and I like that setup; I want to use a phone with only one hand, typing as I walk. The iPhone/Storm really requires you to use two hands, in either landscape or portrait (one hand to hold, one hand to type). Not for me. The HTC Touch's keyboard slides out, and you have to turn the phone sideways to type on it. Not for me. I thought long and hard about this choice.

Think about, and know, what you want to do and how you use a phone; it is a 2-year commitment, so you need to make the right choice. Hope this helps.
