I have a BB9000 connected to an Enterprise server via GRPS/3G or Wifi
To get a speedier Web-Browsing experience, I would prefer, that, as soon as I am inside a WLAN the Wifi Browser is used.
Otherwise, if no Wifi is availible, the MDS Browser should be used.
However, that does not work for saved Bookmarks or Links in the history.
The device always saves the information, which browser was used, and, If I click on a bookmark which was saved during a WiFi browser session I get the error messages that no network is availible.
The other way around the connection is not a problem, because the Blackberry Server connection is always availible, but then, the slower BB connection is used. Also, to save mony and improve speed, I have set the BES browser not to show images and disabled java. So, even when Wifi is used for the BB-Server connection, the page will load without images.
To get around these problems, I always have to switch the default browser when inside a WiFI network, and then I have to open the saved link, copy it, and paste it in the address field.
This is a rather annoying thing and makes surfing using WiFi a pain.
Is there a workaround ?
In a technote at Rim I read, that, when the Device detects a non-routable Network, it will automatically default to the Wifi Browser - but this does not seem to work - and even if it would, this does not help for saved links/links in the history.
In short: How can I create a bookmark which opens in the currently running browser ?
