Question Bold vs. 8900 Screen Size (not resolution)

Please Login to Remove!

Have had the Bold since the day it was released in the US and love it. But since I am never completely satisfied I felt like I had to take a look at the 8900. A store near me had an unbranded one. I have to say it is a pretty sick looking device. It looks tiny and man is it light compared to the Bold.

HOWEVER, what really surprised me was how much bigger the Bold's screen looked - I know the Bold's screen is slightly physically bigger and the 8900 actually has a slightly higher resolution but the icons on the 8900 seemed tiny compared to the Bold's. It actually really bothered me. I'm sure I would ultimately get used to it but I think I prefer the Bold's screen.

I also think I like the keyboard on the Bold better. The keys are physically bigger which is useful for me b/c I have pretty big fingers.

And since I am in NYC and usually have a good 3G signal, 3G is important to me.

So I'm keeping my Bold with no regrets...would be nice if it was a little lighter but size wise I think I like it better than the 8900.

Default Bold Screen vs 8900, and more.

The 8900 is a pretty slick device but doesn't really match up against the Bold.
The easiest way to decide is to try the Bold and never look back.
- The Bold is (once tuned) without comparison.

Default

I'm thinking the 8900 would make a good alternate/secondary phone (to my Bold). I'm thinking of adding one to my arsenal. :D
