Hi. I had already tried searching through the bold and curve forums and didn't find what I was looking for. I currently have the 8310 on ATT and am going to be getting the bold soon and I had a few questions

Do o have to change my plan and sim card because the 8310 is edge and the bold is 3g?

Is the wifi on the bold like the wifi on my laptop where I can use any wireless internet signal that isn't passowrd protected?

The 3g coverage in my general area is pretty good but in some spots is non existant, will this cause a problem for me in any way such as dropped calls? When transitioning from 3g coverage to edge?

And is there any major differences In the 2 devices as far as ui and things of that nature?

Oh I also noticed the one at the ATT store doesn't come with a zen theme. Is there a stock bold zen theme?

Any other tips or suggestions would be helpful. I already have unlimited text and data. And if there is a thread about this already you can just post a link to it so you guys don't have to take the time to explain everything out

#1 - not that im aware, the sim card should work if it isnt over like 10 years old, and if you have a data plan, as far im aware, it doesnt matter whether that data is going edge or 3G.

#2 - yes it is

points #3-5 i dont know.

Q3. Going in and out of 3G might cause dropped calls and definitely decrease battery life.

Q4. Bold runs an updated OS so it is a bit different. Also has more memory and I think a faster processor. Not sure as I don't use either.

Thank you for your fast answers. the reason I asked about the sim was because they said they hjad to give me a new sim when I got the curve because it wasn't 3g. Do I need any kind of wifi plan?

then that sim will be fine in the bold.
no, there is no wi-fi plan. you connect to wi-fi like you do on a laptop...you dont need a plan for that.
but you will need a data plan to you BIS and data services, obviously.
